The San Fernando Valley Japanese American Community Center Athletics Association invites your child to join one of our youth basketball teams.
Our teams compete primarily in either the Crescent Bay Optimist Invitational Sports League (CBO) or the Japanese American Optimist Girls Invitational Basketball League (JAO).
Games are typically played on Sundays between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
Kinder and 1st grade teams participate in the CBO League's Sure Shot division. These games are played at either the San Fernando Valley Japanese American Community Center or the Venice Japanese Community Center.
Starting in 2nd grade, Boys teams will compete in CBO and Girls teams will compete in JAO.
CBO league games are typically played in High School gyms located along the 405 corridor. Games start the 1st week of November and run until the middle of February, about 8 - 10 games.
JAO games are played in High School gyms located in the San Gabriel Valley. Games start in January and run through March, about 8 - 10 games

2020 Pancake Breakfast & Raffle
Unfortunately due to COVID-19 safety concerns, the 2020 Pancake Breakfast has been cancelled. The associated raffle will continue as planned but with a Special format including an increased prize fund.
SF Athletics Pee Wee Clinic
The SF Athletics Pee Wee Clinic is a great place for Kinder and 1st grade kids to learn basketball fundamentals in a fun, interactive and safe environment. Our high energy clinic is for kids that want to improve their basketball skills and make new friends.
